OK, it's been 5 months, but I've been busy

Here is the latest picture of our lady, Peep. The good news is that Peep and Daisy are healthy and laying eggs. The bad news is that Louise died two weeks ago. We think that she became egg-bound and could no longer lay and died. Very sad. Luckily Peep and Daisy are doing fine.

Another picture

Here they are roaming around the yard. They love to eat grass!

They're growing Fast!

Peep, Daisy and Louise are now almost 7 weeks olds. They're full of feathers, putting on weight and growing fast. They are curious about everything and roam around the garden in a little pack. Very cute.

In their new home

Here they are foraging around their new home. I left flowers to grow in the middle of the run. Looks like they are having fun!

The Eglu is here!

Peep, Daisy and Louise's home arrived last week. Here, you can see the Eglu set up next to the house. It is nestled under a lilac tree, so they are nicely shaded for most of the day. They are partly on the lawn and partly on dirt, so have a variety of things to scratch and explore while in the run.

This is lots of fun!

Now we're awaiting delivery of Peep, Daisy and Louise's home: the Eglu. It's a home I know they're going to love - how much cooler can a chicken coop get?

Max and the chicks

Max is doing a great job taking care of the baby girls. He cleans out the poopy newspaper every day. Then he takes a break and plays with them. I have to say that they are incredibly cute.

The Chicken Project

Max and Dad are undertaking a big project: raising chicken in our backyard. We drove up to Bradford New Hampshire and bought three cute little chicks, put them in a box and now they're in our kitchen.
